This page allows you to select how the model will be machined - You can choose passes along either the X or Y axis or both. You can also specify an allowance that will be left on all over the model. You will always want a roughing allowance if you are using a roughing tool to ensure that material is left on for the finishing pass.
You may also want to leave a material allowance on after the finishing pass. This may be because you wish to hand finish the model or if you are planning to cast from the model, and want to allow for shrinkage in the casting process.
This page also allows a border to be automatically added around the model. This can be used to ensure that the selected tools will be able to machine all the way around the sides of the model.
